WESCOR 7621 Centrifugal Smear Machine / Cell Blasting Machine Operating Procedure

First, the instructions for use

1. Connect the power cord and turn on the power switch (located on the back of the machine, above the power cord connector).
2. Open the cover of the main unit, remove the smear rotor, and open the smear rotor.

3. Place a clean blank slide into the slide slot behind each sample cavity, with the marked portion facing the operator.

4. Select the appropriate absorbent paper (fast = white, slow = brown), press the crossbar, and place it in the sample chamber to ensure that the sample chamber is clamped by the spring clamp.

5. Add the sample to the sample chamber through the hole in the sample chamber cover (note that the sample volume should not exceed 500 ul, usually 200-300 ul).

6. Lift the button on the rotor cover. After it is completely closed, press the button again to lock the rotor.

7. Put the locked rotor into the main unit smoothly, and turn the rotor with your hand to ensure that the rotor and the turntable are fixed. Close the cover of the main unit and hear the “when” sound, indicating that the cover is locked; otherwise, reposition the rotor to balance it.
8. Press the number keys 1-9, such as 2, then press the PROG key to enter the program. With the flashing cursor set the speed (100-2000RPM), set the running time (1-99MIN), set the DLY to 0, click Low (set low speed acceleration) or Med (set medium speed acceleration) or High (set high speed acceleration), set the desired acceleration. (If the input is incorrect during the input process, press STOP to exit and then re-enter the program settings).
9. After setting the program, press the RUN button to run the machine.
10. After the machine is running, open the cover of the main unit, take out the smear rotor, open the smear rotor cover, remove the slide, and then take out the sample chamber. Cover the smear rotor cover and put it back in the main unit, close the main unit cover, and turn off the power.

Second, matters needing attention
1. Please turn off the machine when it is not in use.
2. The slide and sample chamber placed in the smear rotor should be placed symmetrically. If the number of samples is odd, a blank symmetry must be placed to ensure balance.
3, the slide has damage or cracks will seriously damage the instrument, so be sure to check carefully before loading.
4. Make sure that no debris is absorbed at the bottom of the rotor, especially the iron, otherwise the electrode will be seriously damaged.
5. Do not open the machine cover while the machine is running.
6. Sudden power failure during operation, wait at least 20 seconds to open the machine cover and ensure that the rotor stops rotating. In normal use, open the cover when the rotor stops rotating. Look at the run indicator on the front control panel and hear the sound of the rotor stopping.
7. Although the sample chamber is designed to be autoclavable, frequent sterilization will reduce the life of the sample chamber. If the sample cavity is found, the frame or cover is distorted or does not match the other parts, please replace it in time.
