Design of MCU in Heart Rate Monitoring System Based on Atmega64L

Abstract : Based on Atmel's AVR series single-chip microcomputer Atmega64L, it is used in the design of MCU in heart rate monitoring system. The characteristics of the microcontroller, as well as the peripheral interface circuit and software design are briefly described. The system is applied to the heart rate monitoring system of individual training intensity, which improves the real-time and computing power of the system.

1 Introduction

According to the exercise heart rate, the exercise intensity level can be accurately divided. According to the intelligent judgment of the monitoring heart rate according to the division level, the training intensity can be monitored in real time, and the alarm can be displayed to grasp the scientific training intensity. Through the research and analysis of the characteristics of the portable heart rate monitoring system, we need to design the system based on Atmega64L for how to improve the real-time, reliability and anti-interference ability of the system.

2 single chip Atmega64L

The Atmega64L is a low power 8-bit CMOS microcontroller based on an enhanced AVR RISC architecture. Due to its advanced instruction set and single clock cycle instruction execution time, the data throughput rate is up to 1MIPS/MHz, with six sleep modes and low power consumption, making it suitable for portable applications.

3 Atmega64L peripheral circuit design

The peripheral circuits of Atmega64L mainly include: power module, keyboard control module, liquid crystal display and voice alarm system interface, heart rate acquisition signal input interface, as shown in Figure 1.

The circuit design is done in the development software of ProtelDXP, including: schematic and PCB design. The selection of components and package design are based on standard regulations, but in order to meet the miniaturization, some of the components consider the chip or other factors, and the physical measurement method is used to load the component library. The modular circuit design uses a typical circuit.

4 software design

WINAVR is a development program for the AVR series of single-chip microcomputers. It uses C language programming to simplify the software structure and improve programming efficiency. The system software design mainly includes: A/D conversion module, keyboard input module, threshold comparison judgment module, display and alarm system.
